Target:

Light calibration and validation site north of Flinders Ranges. Tinga Tingana, together with Lake Argyle have been set up to provide information on Australian aerosols and have CIMEL instruments located and running to acquire long-term data. These data are part of Aeronet. Daedalus and other airborne as well as some ground based data have been taken to estimate the BRDF of the site in addition to AVHRR calibration and AVHRR/ATSR cross-calibration studies. A background aeolian dune system is at a scale that will be resolved by Hyperion allowing geometric studies as well as spectral calibration studies. This site will be characterized spectrally using HyMap as well as ground based measurements over the full 0.4-2.5mm range. Tinga tingana is however not easy to access.
