Site Characterization: High Resolution Digital Air Photos

To assess rice area environmental compliance within the CIA high resolution digital air photos are acquired every January. The following example was acquired in January 2000 to support the 2000/2001 summer (southern hemisphere) growing season.

Hyperion image acquisition area is indicated by the yellow lines, farm boundaries are in green and the edge of the Hymap acquisition area is shown in red. The dark green to black paddocks in the imagery are rice, whereas the lighter green paddocks are other summer crops such as soybean and corn. Red and yellow paddocks are fallow with remnant stubble.
