Infertile red earths.
Vegetation
Moderately dense Acacia aneura and Acacia kempeana forming a similar groving
pattern to the mulga-perennial unit. Predominantly annual grasses (Aristida contorta,
Enneapogon polyphyllus, Enneapogon avenaceus) following summer rains. Mixed forb
species (e.g. Sclerolaena spp., Rhodanthe spp.) present at
other times.
