Description

The LI-192SA Underwater Quantum Sensor is used for measuring PAR (photosynthetically active radiation) in aquatic environments. With its 400-700 nm quantum response it is a valuable tool for researching primary productivity or other projects of environmental concern. The sensor can be used in the air with accuracy similar to that of the LI-190SA

Principal of Measurement and Specifications

Prior to obtaining atmospheric readings, the sensor must be dried. Underwater or atmospheric PPFD is accurately measured using the LI-192SA. The LI-192SA is cosine corrected and features corrosion resistant, rugged construction for use in saltwater and pressures up to 800 psi. An LI-190SA is frequently used as a reference sensor to measure surface PPFD for rapid comparison with a submerged LI-192SA. These comparisons, which are used in vertical profiling studies, or are needed under changing radiation conditions due to waves or atmospheric conditions, can easily be accomplished by connecting these sensors to the LI-1000 Datalogger.
