Description

The LI-193SA Spherical Underwater Quantum Sensor is used for measuring PAR (photosynthetically active radiation) in aquatic environments, and specifically PPFFR (photosynthetic photon flux fluence rate). The LI-193SA gives an added dimension to underwater PAR measurements in that it measures photon flux from all directions (PPFFR). This is important, for example when studying phytoplankton which utilize radiation from all directions for photosynthesis

Principal of measurement and Specifications

The LI-193SA features a high sensitivity optical design and compact, rugged construction (500 psi) for use in harsh aquatic environments. Please note that because of the nature of the measurement this sensor is making that it is not cosine corrected as are all of the other LI-COR quantum sensors.
