The next site has the colours in the Difference FCC image that indicate both loss and gain of landcover, which can be confirmed by eyeballing the 1974 and 1988 FCC images. Ground photographs of this site, north of the town of Gingin, reveal that very low fertility, sandy soils had been cleared of their heath vegetation for agriculture. Now, for some reason, the agricultural use has either been reduced or abandoned and there is a regrowth of native and exotic landcover.
